Craft Night for My Mom's Birthday

I asked my mom what she wanted to do for her birthday and she said she just wanted to be together. So, we went out to dinner at one of our favorite Italian restaurants that we've been going to frequently for most of my life. It was absolutely delicious!! After dinner we went home and had a craft night.

Here's the outcome...
Decorative watering cans with flower pens!!!!

I absolutely love these! They are going to brighten up my desk at work and they are such fun, bright colors!

Here's a closer look at the first one I did:

The watering can was purchased from Michael's Craft Store
The paper flowers on the watering can are from Creative Memories
The paper flowers (pen tops) are strips of Creative Memories paper
Used Bic and Papermate pens
Rocks in the bottom so the pens will stand up.

Happy Birthday To My Mom!!

Today was my mom's birthday. She's the best mother a person could ever ask for. She's loving, caring, generous, faithful, compassionate, funny, and the list could really go on forever. She's such a great example to my sister and I and she is so special to me!!

I made this birthday card for her. It took a while for me to make it, but she really loved it, so it was all worth it!!

I used 2 mini Tildas in this card:

I stitched the edges by hand. I used the Sew Easy products by We R Memory Keepers. This was my first time using these products, and I really liked them! I'll be making more cards with stitching in the future!!

Here's a close up of Tilda holding the present behind her back:

I wanted to use the dots to add a different element. I like the way it makes Tilda pop out.

Here's the inside of the card:

Trying New Things...

Good evening,

This week has been full of trying new techniques! Here is my first attempt at a Gatefold card. It was very fun to make and I'm so glad that I'm venturing out and trying new ideas! I used the Shy Tilda and Kissing Edwin-Standing Mini-Magnolias. They were the perfect size for this card. I also created a dot background, which is another new technique that I tried out.

Here's it is:

An close-up of Edwin loving Tilda:

I've been waiting for some new Magnolia stamps to come in the mail and they arrived Friday afternoon before we left to get to our destination for the scrapbook weekend.

This card features Fairytale Tilda, Prince Edwin and 'Kiss Me I'm a Prince.'

Here it is:
I've been wanting to try more layering as well as stamping the sky and grass backgrounds with the Inkssentials Blending Sponges.

Fairytale Tilda is one of my absolute favorites now that I've gotten to color her and make this card!!

Paper Bag Card

Good morning,

I have a new card for you today...these paper bag cards are my new favorite!

I like making them with the regular "brown paper bag" because I think that gives it a more vintage look, but I also like using the colored bags, if you can find them. I found a bunch of different colored bags at Michael's Craft Store by the party bags. They were reasonably priced and came in a variety of colors.

I used 3 different Maggies on this card. Tilda Picking Lilacs, Tilda with Key and Tilda with Lace Jeans.

Tilda with Many Hearts...

Good morning,

I made a simple layout with the sweet Tilda with Many Hearts. I stamped this great image on Bazzill Simply Smooth Cardstock, which is great to use with Copic markers. I used the Swiss Dots embossing folder in my Cuttlebug to add some dimension to the Melon Mambo Stampin' Up cardstock. I then added some beautiful flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Color Medium: Copic Markers
Card papers: Bazzill Simply Smooth Cardstock, Stampin' Up Melon Mambo and Whisper White
Flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts

Isn't she just the sweetest?!

~Blessings to you~
